El descubrimiento del entorno marino, lleva a Esteban Ruiz a retornar al medio pictórico, abandonado varios años antes para el desarrollo de obra escultórica e instalaciones. Pinturas, puras pinturas repletas de color. El artista cambia el acrílico por el óleo, lo que cambia también la intensidad de los colores derramados por la tela.

Las impresiones que quedaron grabadas en sus emociones y las sensaciones que vivió durante su travesía atlántica en el Trache a Horzier (un velero muy marinero de madera de 11 metros), han sido fielmente reflejadas en esta colección.
